Grand Rapids, Michigan. – August 14, 2017– Burke Porter Group (BPG), a global leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of advanced technological testing solutions, has acquired LISMAR, a provider of non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment for steel roll inspection, based in The Netherlands.
BPG serves the global automotive, industrial and energy markets, maintaining 34 locations for manufacturing and service in Europe, Asia and the Americas. As the newest member of the BPG family of companies, LISMAR joins Kleinknecht, Universal Balancing, CIMAT, Epic Equipment & Engineering, XL Machine Co. Inc., Korvis, Primatics, and the Burke E. Porter Machinery Co.
Since 1982, LISMAR has provided machine controls and other electro-mechanical systems, including roll inspection systems and controls for roll grinding machines. The company’s diversified portfolio enables them to engineer, manufacture and support systems to customer-specific requirements.
LISMAR’s machines are widely used by roll manufacturers in the steel and aluminum industry, with over 500 roll inspection units installed at customer sites all over the world. The company also offers a service program for its machines which provides maintenance, calibration, and training with guaranteed availability of spare parts and service engineers.

For over 40 years, Kleinknecht has developed controls and generator technology for electrical discharge texturing (EDT) machines for steel rolls. The Kleinknecht Steel and Machine Tool Division specializes in technology upgrading of steel roll grinding machines and provides advanced EDT machines featuring first-of-kind linear motors to control electrodes.
